The application deadline is Monday, April 2nd to apply for the Staten Island Teaching Artist Institute (SI TAI), a collaboration of COAHSI, Sundog Theatre, and The Center for Arts Education!
All levels of teaching artists are encouraged to apply this year. This year’s curriculum will be geared towards Intermediate and Advanced level teaching artists – those who have already graduated from the program or who have advanced experience working in the field – and will provide new insights and opportunities.
Beginner Teaching Artists are also encouraged to apply. A special “introduction to being a teaching artist” session will be held for beginning teaching artists on April 14th to offer basic terminology and practical skills.
What is the SI Teaching Artist Institute (SITAI)? It’s an opportunity for intensive training with expert practitioners, where working artists will learn how to teach in school settings.
When will SI TAI be held? SI TAI will be held on four Saturdays: April 28th, May 5th, May 12th, and June 2nd, from 10-3. Also, an extra introductory session on April 14th will be required for those who are new to the field. The program will also include internships during the month of May.
