Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Conference House Park, Tottenville, Staten Island
Thanks to your help, more than 558,000 trees have been planted in the City to date. Bringing us closer to our goal of a million trees by 2017.
Please join us on Saturday, April 28th or Sunday, April 29th rain or shine to help plant more than 7,000 more trees in Conference House Park in Staten Island and Riverdale Park in the Bronx. Our team will include partners from other city agencies, Parks, HRA, Homeless Services, and DOITT as well as residents of the local communities and our MilliontreesNYC co-sponsor, the New York Restoration Project.
When you register, you’ll select how you will travel to the planting site, whether by bus leaving from City Hall, by car, or by public transportation. For Saturday, April 28th planting at Conference House Park, we strongly recommend that you and your guests sign up for our free, round-trip bus transportation leaving from City Hall as parking is extremely limited around the planting sites and public transportation is also very limited. A light breakfast will be provided on the bus ride.
When you arrive, we’ll provide training, ShapeUpNYC Tree-Stretch class (!) a boxed lunch, gloves, NYCWater, extra sun block and poison ivy lotion and lots of smiles and appre ciation and special Park Ranger tours! Restrooms will be available on site.
We encourage you and your guests to wear long pants, comfortable shirts, sturdy shoes/sneakers, base ball caps or hats, and to bring extra sun block.
As we approach the planting day, you will receive a reminder email that will give further details about the site, status of transportation, arrival times, and your guests’ registration.
After registering, if you have any questions, please contact Lucy Morales at (212) 788-2882.
Many thanks for volunteering. We look forward to seeing you rain or shine at Conference House Park and Riverdale Park on Saturday, April 28th or April 29th!
