Island Voice News

My global work with citizens, lawmakers, and administration officials, has earned me valuable worldwide connections. My pioneering skills in Global Licensing, Digital Communications, Business Development, and Branding, have been developed over a ten year period. I can rely on my diplomatic and government relations to secure and broker global licensing agreements for you. I have extensive experience in brokering telecommunications and digitalization deals in Nigeria, while currently working in Liberia and Sierra Leone I am also expanding these services in India, China, and South America.

As Founder and CEO of Thello Entertainment Inc., (the first American Independent Record Label in Tokyo), Ive launched branch offices in Hong Kong and Tokyo. These offices work on all aspects of music industry production, distribution, licensing, and management. In less than one year I recovered my initial investment in a challenging Japanese music market. Other major accomplishments at Thello include: securing major artist contracts with Universal Music Japan and Def Jam Japan; obtaining national distribution agreements throughout East Asia; establishing motion picture and digital production companies; and producing TV programs, commercials, music videos, and films. Some of our popular clients include music artists Wayne Wonder, Kymani, Damian Marley, Def Jam Japan artists Hi-D and Ai, and celebrity fashion stylist/designer Indashio.

My experience as Co-Owner and Lead Business Manager of Metropolitan Auto Import and Export included applying select marketing and advertising techniques to maintain a competitive edge. This vastly increased our profits and our market share. Our primary business function was exporting vehicles to governments and to individuals in the private sector. We excelled in this arena.

At Reggae SumFest, Ive worked to promote and market the event, the brand, and the license for the past several years. This annual weeklong Reggae music festival is presently held only in Jamaica. My current work includes brokering the deal to expand this hugely successful event in the USA and in Africa.

As CEO of Notes Lounge, I designed and developed a very successful Manhattan style night club in Staten Island. Notes Lounge has hosted many product launchings and celebrity events that include Victorias Secret Model Selita Ebanks, NFL Star Adwale Ogunleye, actors Tristan Wild and Hassan, and radio personalities from HOT 97 FM. Notes Lounge has also been the location for very successful campaigns and fundraisers for the political figures President Barack Obama, Congressman Michael E. McMahon, and City Councilwoman Debi Rose. I maintain close personal contact with the staff, the clients, and the entertainers. This keeps me up to date on all new ideas, trends, and markets.

My political, cultural, and community affiliations include: Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers, American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers, Downtown Staten Island Council, Action Committee: Link Di Vibes, Japan (Only foreign member), African Refugee (Board member), New York Urban League Staten Island (Board member), Island Voice Inc (President/co-founder), Alumni College of Staten Island, SIAPA (Political Association), SIDA (Political Association). Ive also been awarded numerous Citations from State, City, and Local elected officials for my active role in the community.

Appreciating my successes inspires me to give back to the global community. Some of the projects that I work on include the Staten Island African Heritage Parade, Hip Hop Chess Tournament, Youth Economic Empowerment Workshops, Downtown Staten Island Council network commercial (themed Live, Work, and Play), SI Tappan Park Festival in Stapleton, Make a Wish Foundation, March of Dimes, Buju Banton and Friends Concert Celebrating Cultural Diversity, the Annual Downtown Staten Island Drive-in Movies, and the first ever Tokyo AIDS awareness concert for the Red Cross in Japan. Dear Mr. Digi,
I Shervin Abdolhamidi, I am a student at NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering. We are in Professor Schechtman’s urban resilience course, and we are conducting a class project on the state of recovery from Superstorm Sandy. I chose to study Staten Island, your neighborhood. We would like to request permission to visit you and conduct a short interview to ask you questions about the recovery process and state of vulnerability of the neighborhood. The interview should last about 30 minutes and we have about 10 questions. Sometimes that we are available are Wednesday evenings, and Friday afternoons. If these are not good for you, please suggest others. We prefer to have the meeting in person, at a place you suggest, although we can conduct the interview on the phone or internet if necessary. We would also like to request your permission to record the interview, to make it easier for us to write up the report. If that is not ok, please let us know.
    Thank you very much,
    Cell #: 646-620-5041
